You email address will be marked as “not verified” on the download page by default. The registered and paid version of Tresorit gives more control over shared content, including detailed access logs, configurable expiry dates and the ability to limit downloads. We created Tresorit Send to make user onboarding to our services easier in a standalone, fully functional app. Sharing files externally is a very popular use-case in Tresorit apps. How does Tresorit Send fit in with the rest of what Tresorit offers?

For security reasons, we do not store this link on our servers, guaranteeing that only you can access and share your content. Your Tresorit Send link contains the encryption key to your files. Why don't you include the created link in the admin email? You will also receive an email with a unique Admin Link: open it to manage and review the content you share with Tresorit Send. Your email address will be verified and listed on the download page to ensure visitors that they are downloading content from a trusted source. If you need advanced sharing features or you would like to store files in the cloud, we recommend our desktop and mobile apps. Tresorit Send is a freemium product and we have no intention to transform it to a paid service. Your stored content and all relating metadata, such as your settings and email address, will be removed from our system 14 days after your link expires. Tresorit servers are located in highly secure Microsoft Azure data centers in Ireland and the Netherlands. Where do you store data, and for how long?

On top of end-to-end encryption, Tresorit Send offers other security features like password protection, link revoke and access logs for free. Most of the large file sharing solutions, even their paid version lack end-to-end encryption, meaning they are not a secure as Tresorit Send. How does Tresorit Send differ from other large file sharing solutions? We have it on our roadmap to have Tresorit Send audited and to make it open source. Has the encryption been audited by a third party? If you believe that the link and the password fell into the wrong hands revoke the link immediately, ensuring that no one will be able to access the shared files anymore. For example, send the password via SMS and send the link via email.

We strongly advise that you send the password and the link in a secure manner and using separate channels. What if I share the link adding the password in the same email and send it to a wrong person?
